Our University; Aims to develop primarily graduate level research, also to contribute to the research and methodology training of Turkish academics, and increasing the research appetite and profile of its students.

Our department aims to contribute to the lifelong learning experiences of our students. For this aim, our department cordially collaborates with almost every department of our university. Our department coordinates all faculties’ and institutes’ student affairs.

Mission

Student Affairs Department supports education and facilitates training of SSUA students via an effective collaboration with the other departments.

Vision

To develop the quality of our student profile and for this aim to work with relevant departments of our University and of Higher Education Council.

Our Duties and :

Our Department was established in conformity with the Turkish Higher Education Act No. 2547, article 51/a. According to Article 31 of the Statutory Decree on Higher Education Institutions and Their Administrative Organizations, the duties of the Department of Student

Affairs are:

a) To tarry out students’ new enrolment, admission, and course selection, fulfilment,

b) Graduation, IDs, scholarships, and processing their academic monitoring,

c) Other related and relevant duties.

Within this framework Department of Student Affairs;

• Carries out building up necessary legal and administration documentation and also their amendments.

• Determines and implements the major requirements related to Higher Education.

• Evaluates demands for opening new programmes and related decisions, follow relevant procedures and correspondence.

• Carry out the correspondence related to student admissions quotas.

• Plans and announces academic calendar.

• Updates student affairs website.

• Presents strategic plan, activity and performance reports.

• Plans domestic control.

• Prepares the work flow schemes within the scope of its activities.

• Carries out the duties related to service purchases and assessments.

• Implements the requirements of examinations, markings.

• Carries out student exchange programmes’ transcript processes.

• Implements University’s moveable goods’ regulations.

• Prepares and facilitates the implementation of student council principles.

• Carries out the necessary work for candidate (public) servants at the University.

• Enables smooth operation of services within its domain.

• Processes first enrolment, course enrolment, add/drop procedures.

• Determines the procedures regarding undergraduate transfers.

• Processes student loans and scholarships.

• Processes foreign students application and admissions.

• Determines the requirements of double major.

• Follows graduation and graduation certificate processes.

• Issues student IDs.

• Replies to various institutions’ student-related statistics demands.

• Contributes to University’s higher education quality target achievement and any relevant University policy issues .

• Maintains full functioning of Student Information System.

• Carries out the secretarial work of Education Commission.

• Carries out Student Discipline Legislation.

• Collects and keeps necessary data alumni.

• Responds to acquisition of information demands.

• Updates work flow schemes within its performance domain.

• Carries out necessary supporting work relevant to Student Council.
